Rohan & Guy waiting for their AS results.
After the session, Sam Bryant, Rohan Monico and Guy Titman were passed their AS results.

Congratulations Sam !
Then the boys caught a bus to Adelaide Oval for an 11.00am tour of the ground. They all sat in the VIP seats and visited the player changing rooms and the inside of the scoreboard. Although the boys were told not to touch anything inside, the scores after our visit were slightly different to what they were before !

Adelaide Oval.
We then all walked to the centre of Adelaide and caught the tram to Glenelg. The boys all played ball on the beach and spent some time in the local shops.
We then caught the tram followed by taxi's back to the Adelaide Aquatic Centre. Only 4 boys (Chris Craig, Sam Bryant, Adam Chambers & Blair Abrahams) were temporarily lost after the taxi rides but after searching were found eating Pizza at a restaurant ! Whilst dropped at the right place they walked away from the pool for 30 minutes in the wrong direction. They were collected just before their match !

The matches against Blackfriars were watched by a big crowd at the Aquatic Centre. The juniors played first and faced their best opposition of the tour so far. It was always a close game with the Blackfriars goalkeeper showing excellent agility in the cage shutting us out for the first half. Early in the third quarter we were three nil down before James Owen opened our account with a sweep shot, James Lord got an extra man goal and Andrew Court a driving goal to even the game 3-3 at three quarter time. We got our noses in front courtesy of a counter attack goal by Eddie Hay. Blackfriars equalised and we sneaked in front again with Andrew's second goal, a jump away shot from centre forward. Blackfriars came back strongly and were awarded a penalty. The final score of 5-5 was a fair result, the whistle coming with Rupert Houghton breaking away with the ball.
The seniors played the senior schoolboy state champions. The Blackfriars team boasted 9 state team players. We started well and it took them three and a half minutes to score the first goal. After that they scored steadily but had to work hard for their goals. Finally, in the last quarter Sam Whittle broke away to score our only goal of the the game, the final score was 15-1. Playing 30m by 20m is a big step up and there are definite signs that we are developing our tactics to suit the conditions. Ball retention is a key factor as is determination in front of goal.
4 games in four days, with constant travelling, has been a hard start. Saturday will be the first real rest day and a chance to recharge the batteries.
